t is tough to find a job in this recession.
I visited to a human resources company and asked about another company which is seeking employees. They told me that the amount of a current offer is much less than a year ago.
I'm looking for a sales & marketing position. It's already been 2 weeks since I started to look for a job. But all I got was one interview.
Hopefully I will a get job by the end of September!!!

Weight
I have been gaining weight since coming to America. I gained 12 pounds in the past six months. It is a lot. I think it's because of the amount of foods. Everything is much bigger than Japanese food and the food contains too much oil.
So, I decided to diet starting today!! I'm 140 pounds now. My goal is 130 pounds by the middle of June. I have to work out a lot. I know many poeple around NYC go to the gym and excercise hard. Should I also go to the gym? well.....but I don't want to spend money on a diet.
By the way, weight and wait sound similar. I still can't recognize these difference without a sentence.
Oneday, a nurse told me "wait" in a hospital, so I was waiting.....but she got little bit upset and she told me "wait" again. Somebody who was watching us told me "how many pounds?" Then I finally realized that she was asking "my weight".
If she said "how much is your weight?" or something like that, I would recognize that but I can't recognize only the one word.

Dragon Ball Evolution
I watched Dragon Ball Evolution today with some American friends. We decided to watch this movie because my friends and I like this comic.
Both the comic and the cartoon are famous all over the world. When I went to English school in the USA, many friends from other countries told me they liked it. When Hollywood announced that they were going to make this movie, many Japanese thought it was going to come out terrible because we didn't believe they could make something that could live up to the original.
So, we didn't expect much, we just went for fun. It was even worse than we ever could have imagined. The main character was totally different from the original, and there were some scenes that were embarrassing to even watch.
I don't recommend that anyone watch this movie.

Job offer
I got a Job Offer from my previous boss of my last job.
This company is a Japanese Online Game company and my job is to develop the Europian online game market. So, If I accept this offer, I need to go to Europe.
But I have no idea what Europe is like because I have never been there yet.
This offer is good but I'm confused whether I should sccept it or not. There are some points about the job. For example, this job is different from what I want to do, my girlfriend is in Korea, and I don't know if this online game will succeed in Europe.
However, there are some good points firstly I might speak English during this job and if I'm not sure I will be able to find job after my internship beucause of the recession.
It is very complicated to decide for me.

Social Networks
What a pityful day...... I have low motivation every Monday......
It's also cold and windy today..Why?? The temprature was good this weekend.
By the way, I have a few social network accounts. Each site has different features, so I use each one for different purposes.
Facebook.
I use this SNS to contact my friends from around the world. I don't use it with my Japanese friends though. I like Facebook chat. It is convenient.

This SNS is only supposed to be for Japanese people, and I use it to keep track of my Japanese friends.

This wesite is for my studying English. If I wrote some jornals in English, somebady will correct my mistakes. It's my favorite now.

well....Recently I don't use this site so much. I'm too lazy to customize my page with HTML, and some pages have too many applications. They make my computer slow down.
Many friends of mine switched from MySpace to Facebook. I guess I will delete my MySpace account too...

Grand
I was watching the American TV Drama "Entourage" today online. While I was watching this TV show, a question arose.
When they were talking about money, someone said "Give me 20 grand". (I was not sure about the spelling of grand......)
It sounds like a huge amount of money.
I asked this question to American people and then they taught me about "Grand".
"A 'grand' is 1,000 dollars, so '20 grand' is 20,000 dollars.
I don't know where we got that slang word, maybe because 'grand' is close in meaning to 'great'?"
I also searched bymyself online and they said this is very common slang.
There are really many slangs about money. It is interesting.

ABOUT ME
Hi everybody,
I start this BLOG for practicing my English. I hope I will write it constantly and improve my English faster.
This is a little bit about myself.
I'm a 27 year old Japanese male. I'm doing an internship here in New York City. I have been in the USA for a year and a half.
I like watching American TV Dramas such as Entourage, 24, and Heroes. I also like drinking with my friends.
While I was working in Japan, I sometimes got phone calls from companies in other countries. They spoke to me in English but I couldn't respond because I could only say stuff like "Hello, How are you?, and I'm fine thank you and you?" at that time.
I didn't think I needed to speak English in my life but I realized that English is the most common language in the world and I may need to use it sometimes. So, I decided to study abroad and ended up to the United States.
This is why I am in New York City now.
